Kenny Tsak took a break from the music business between 1981 and 2005 for family business reasons. He has now got around to recording his debut album, which features the specially recruited "56 Deluxe Girls" on the cover.

Tsak plays guitar in a neat, crisp manner, rather than trying to be too flashy. This becomes evident on the opening title track which rocks along nicely, and showcases Frank Perez's fine sax work too. Tsak has a slightly gravelly voice, although it does sound a little affected in places. Generally though, things hang together just fine, with the band at their best on songs like "Walkin' Shoes" and "Down South Florida". The only cover versions are Chick Willis' "Stoop Down Baby" and "I Just Wanna Make Love To You": the former works quite well, but the heavy rolling blues rock version of the latter does not do it for this listener. The band pull it all back together to close in style with "I'll Take You With Me".

"Like I Do" is a good album, marking a somewhat belated start to Kenny Tsak's recording career. Everything is nicely delivered in a functional crisp manner, but there is not really anything here that you can point to as being the thing that marks Tsak out from the rest of the crowd.
