The Ross William Perry Band is always rockin' and turning any venue into an inferno of smokin' blues. If you've never seen them, you've never experienced upper Midwest blues so hot. Ross plays everything from Albert King to Hendrix to Howlin' Wolf and everyone in between. He's only 22 and already a guitar god with a helluva great rhythm section. Ross William Perry (guitar and vocals), Brad Pelky (bass and vocals) and Scotty Schultz (drums) create a sound that is incredibly huge for a trio and truly shows talents that are larger than the sum of their parts. Scotty is one of the hardest hitting drummers I've seen and along with his great sense of timing and accuracy he provides the intense energy for the band. Scotty is a favorite to watch and he is proof to how much fun these guys have during a show. Bassist Brad brings a technical proficiency of fretwork on the bottom, raising the dimension of bass with a fantastic groove. Brad's vocals are good and his sense of timing and feel are assets to the trio.

The first thing you will notice about Ross is how this quiet, soft spoken, young man could possibly feel the blues, or have experienced life to perform the way he does. When he picks up his strat and cranks his modified '64 Super Reverb, you'll know where his talent lies. Pure, unadulterated tone, he drips tone from his fingers, he coaxes and creates tone far from the ordinary notes he plays. I saw him last month for the first time in a couple of months and were amazed again at the sounds and music that come from the kid. He plays a mix of covers, old blues, Chicago blues, Louisiana blues, Texas blues, and original work all comprised into one package and one great evening of blues. While the band is popular with blues fans, they are not a top 40 or variety band. According to Ross, "we do play a number of private parties and the occasional wedding dance, but we really are a blues band." If you enjoy music, you'll be treated to some of the best live music around. If you love the blues, you'll be back again and again to see the Ross William Perry Band and you'll go away each time amazed with music these guys create.

Ross and the band can be found every weekend entertaining and mesmerizing crowds around the state. They play at several venues in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa, and they have a loyal following wherever they go. Minnesota is home, and the twin cities is their backyard. Here's a short list of venues coming up in February, and the full schedule can be found at: http://www.pollstar.com
