Jeff Healey Weds Fiancé Cristie Hall at Toronto's landmark Casa Loma, Fri. July 18, 2003 (plain)
Jeff Healey married fiancé, singer Cristie Hall, in a private ceremony Friday, July 18, 2003,
held at the Toronto landmark Casa Loma. (For those not familiar with Casa Loma, it's a
real castle built c. 1900 by Henry Pellatt, a wealthy Toronto entrepreneur, and modeled after
his favorite castle designs from Europe. It's huge -- complete with stables, secret
passage ways and compartments. We all went there as kids -- it's open to the public all year
round.) It's the ideal location to hold a fairy-tale wedding ceremony, such as Jeff and Cristie's!
There were over 150 friends, family and fellow musicians in attendance, (but no members
of the press.) Just a cozy, friendly gathering of Jeff's many close friends. Among them
were Healey guitarist Pat Rush, as well as members of Jeff's jazz band, the Jazz
Wizards. Phil Morrison and Stuart McKendrick, co-owners with Jeff in downtown Toronto
nightclub Healey's were also in attendance. Music was by DJ, and was the typical
dance, party music, according to McKendrick. We all wish Jeff and Cristie well in their
happy, new marriage and long life together.
