Recorded in 1974 (and never released until now) this CD features Sleepy John Estes on guitar and vocals joined by long time blues partner Hammie Nixon on harmonica, kazoo and vocals.

Delmark has always had a knack for releasing some of the best traditional country blues music. This CD is definitely in that category. The vocals of Estes are riveting and the key component of this recording. It’s an excellent example of a traditional blues artist just accompanying himself on guitar, singing from his heart, expressing his feelings, telling a story and playing the blues. John is supported throughout the recoding by the melodic harp playing of Hammie Nixon. On occasion you will hear some guitar licks that sound familiar, only because you may have heard other blues performers who learned some of their licks from Sleepy John. And come on, how often do you get to hear the kazoo now-a-days.
