I’ll be home for Christmas the first tune makes me feel like I’m on a tropical islands somewhere, a far cry from Chicago. I suppose if you were a service man stationed in the Hawian Islands in 1940 it would be fitting.

Santa Clause is commin’ to town. This is a good one. Motown, horns and funky Santa with a strut.

Merry little Christmas, another classic Christmas song that I like almost no matter what genre it’s played in. It’s something jazzy & swingish that I believe my mom would certainly like. Some nice vocals, piano and horns.

Noel, and other songs sounds like a barber shop quartet mix of the best of Christmas, good harmony and sung A cappella.

Bells will be ringing…………This is a very good Blues Christmas song. I get chills when I hear this song. It is really one of my favorites. The voice is really good and the musical mix tops it off like nutmeg on eggnog. (or a little vodka).

#6 Chestnuts roasting on an open fire. Another classic that is hard to go wrong by. A real pretty soft female voice singing like the southing sound of the acoustic guitar that accompanies her here.

Jingle Bells…This changes quite a bit here from one song to another. This is a good version jumpin and rockin but a bad transition from one song to another.

Blue Christmas. Another drastic change in tempo back to the depression of the 1930’s. Who ever put this CD together must be a big fan of the Yo Yo

The next is a Do Whop Christmas song. The voices are pleasant and the singing pretty good ,also sung in A cappella.

Let it snow. Another pleasant female voice but it also has a tropical island feel to it, or maybe it is country & western.

Winter Wonderland. This is a cool and groovy tune with a great voice and some cool musical funkiness.

Holy Night. This one is straight from midnight mass. How do you go from funky and groovy to church music ?

This collection of Christmas music is difficult to listen to. Each song on it’s own is good, but put them all together in one collection and it is a disaster. If rounder wants people to get a taste of all the different types of music they put out, this collection is very diverse, and they succeeded. The biggest draw back is that it is almost painful to listen to. Kind of like being a on a super ball in a small room, you are bouncing everywhere without any consistency.
