Most of this 15-track CD focuses on previously released material from 1989-1997, but Deep Trout also contains a bonus track that goes back to 1972 - a recording of Junior Wells' 'So Sad to Be Lonely'.
Walter Trout has a lot of recordings from which to choose for a 'Best of" cd like this one. So for someone who is new to his music and doesn't know where to start, this CD may be the best choice. If you have all of Trout's early recordings already, Deep Trout is a waste of money. Deep Trout is full of rock and R & B, blended with Trout's style that is raw, edgy, electric blues.
I like the first cut 'If You Just Try', the traditional-sounding Tribute to Muddy Waters, and 'So Sad To Be Lonely'.
