    The Devil´s Musik?

You want to hear the Devil’s music played by the Fallen Angel who tuned Robert Johnson’s guitar? Do you feel strong enough to go down to THE crossroad and sell your soul for the one and only groove? Are you ready to pass your axe over, have it tuned the hellish way to make your heart bleed tears while your fingers pluck the hell out of the strings, making them cry and wail the blues, luring your audience into stunned admiration, into offering you their hearts, bodies and greenbacks ? There is a lot to gain and it comes cheap – it will be just your soul and that might not be such a loss anyway. Figure it out. The years of practice and work did not pay off according to your dreams. Immortality or the Hall of Fame are far beyond your horizon. Come on, take the easy way. Hellhounds on your trail ? – throw them some bones – the beat goes on. Low life or lush life – it´s your choice. Reap without sowing and live now – pay later. You´ve devoted your life to the Devil´s music. Why not accept help from the ONE AND ONLY who hums his luring tunes from Sunflower County to Texas, from Memphis to Chicago, rocking the juke joints and baptising fancy bars with the blood and the drumming heartbeat of the blues ? You have no clue how to find THE crossroad ? Don´t worry, if you are open enough and ready it will find you at a time when you will least expect it.

Or you might want to listen to the mp3-cd by the title BLUCIFER (http://independentartistscompany.com/kiac/artist.aspx?ID=12740) . Kevin “Stik” Paul, a Chicago guitar wizard and his StikMen blend sophisticated electronic sound effects into original groovy blues creating a very special modern yet timeless way of presenting that music. Along with the funky rocking 11 songs BLUCIFER is an outstanding piece of art, a gem for aficionados of the blues guitar. Beyond the beauty of its skilful performance it offers a key to understand a new aspect of the crossroad legend, a different comprehension of Dr. Faustus´ pact with the dark forces.

To really prepare yourself for the groovy sensations put on your headphones, shut off your world and get ready to be lured into the Devil´s velvety tempting trap. Forget about technical gimmicks and effects that give the sound a fresh spice. The sound is ages old deriving its true essence and expression from generations of venerable bluesmen. Listen to the Devil´s voice, trust it your axe and soul and feel confirmed and accepted to be born to play the blues. And if you identify yourself with the bluesman in that song conversing with the Great Man himself you might discover an eerie sensation: there is no one to really talk to – this powerfully charming and tempting voice comes deep from your own soul. It is not the Devil luring you into his fiendish pact – it is a creative force inside your existence that talks to you, trying to escape the confines of convention and smoothness, forcing you to give its emotions the expressive power of the blues.

If it is the Devil´s music it is in fact hummed, wailed and hollered by the devil inside yourself. By feeling that power, by suffering from suppressing its release and at last by setting it free, sharing it with people around you, spreading it all over the juke joints, honky-tonks and blues clubs you have become a member of the honoured guild of bluesmen .

Then, and only then you know that YOU WERE BORN TO PLAY THE BLUES.
