Percy has a great voice for listening to the lyrics. When you hear this man you know you are in for some heavy blues. This is his second release, “A good woman is hard to find” was his first and Percy continues to be a lady’s man. Percy Strother writes 10 of the songs. So much of the blues comes from relationships. Lying, cheating, lovin, stealing, baby left me, brokenhearted and joyous feelings.
Percy has them all. He’ll turn 59 on July 23rd, 2005 and grew up in Vicksburg Ms. , in those days the family had it rough. Percy knew his music and took his refuge in the Blues and the Great North of Minnesota. Percy has had his battles with the demons as we all have.
The compact disc reveals the story of a lady’s man that seduces the women around him. Now if that ain’t a blues stud, what is. This seems to be a real life story of the stages and places that Percy might have traveled on the Blues Highway. I have only reviewed this compact disc but it seems pretty realistic to me.
I find myself laughing at the lyrics when thinking of my past flings on the road or at home. You will find this disc entertaining and memorable. Percy just keeps going. He tends to remind me of Albert Collins with his guitar riffs and Don Juan with his pick up lines.
