"Drive Across Texas" is an excellent listenin blues CD. It was recorded in Europe in 1999 with a band called "Short Fuse". Bob Kirkpatrick is on lead Guitar and Vocals This is definitely Louisiana Mississippi River Delta blues. Bob Kirkpatrick, almost 71 now, had a natural inclination for the blues at a very early age. Bob said "I actually began playin the blues on the screen door springs". He told me his first Guitar was an acoustic 'Sears and Roebuck'. He had 6 uncles and a dad that all played guitar and an aunt that played Piano. It was all religion in The Church of God in Christ and blues music was not allowed. Bob tells me, "I used to sneak a listen when I could, juke box, juke joint or radio; when I heard '3 O'Clock Blues' by B.B. King, I knew I just had to play the blues". Thank God was my reply. This is strongly recommended listening music. Bob served the military during the Korean conflict as a rifle squad leader and later in the 38th Regimental Combat team. He now lives in Dallas Texas, book him ! You can contact him through TopCat records at www.topcatrecords.com tell em Mad Dog sent ya.
