This rap and rhythms 4 song compilation is very good with a nice old school back beat. There is an energy about it with some gospel chorus back up that does praise the lord even though there are many problems a young African inter city youth American might face in a day. He or she can be strong with a faith in Jesus Christ and the knowledge that 'He' is the ultimate to have your back.
The lyrics are clever and the attitude is fresh. I like the variety in the vocal voices that speak for NFINITE. These guys speak about what the build up to and what the current 21st Century is for all of us regardless of age or race. They talk about the Serbians (1990's), Mary Popins(1960's) and what if the saints did not obey, or Jesus never lived (B.C.) and an incident that happens every day somewhere but with a different story line in many different places.
These guys must be ballers because they can't help talk about basketball in songs 1 and 4 if you can pick it up. There is no denying that these guys know how to spend their free time and encourage the youth to use their energy and talent well.
These guys got it goin on. Yes they talk religion but it's their song and they can do what they want and you are going to like it. I like it very much and am going to share it with the young hip hoppers, rappers and ballers that I know. Nice job NFINITE!
This 4 song CD was a real good selection. I think the blues needs to influence rap music. There is so much negativity in the media about rap music and maybe some of the so called criminal descriptions in the lyrics. Back in the day, Blues music was also thought to have so called criminal descriptions. Think of a black youth in Arkansas in 1930. Times have changed but the struggles of a black youth are still the struggle for a black youth as it is growing up for any race.
Music is the connection to most of us. If the blues are to live on we need to influence the hip hop rap sound of today, and develop the musical talents of generations right now.
