Willie C. a new name to me, has written and produced all eleven tracks on this very pleasant
sounding CD. Whilst it is very much a low cost production it manages to have real musicians
playing real instruments. The album kicks off with "I Got To Go On With My Life" which has
some cracking guitar work and Willie even sounds like a young Buddy Guy. The thing I like about
Willie is his soulful delivery, he also has a great falsetto voice which he uses to great effect on
"Yumbo Gumbo". On "D.Devil Is In The Church House", Willie gives us a down-home gospel
preaching style supplement by his wonderful falsetto voice. Joe & Carl Campbell who are Little Milton's
nephews help things along with some great Horn work especially on "Traffic Jam Blues". I particularly liked
"Country Boy" which is a salute to country living. Willie also manages to get low down and funky on
"Work That Thing". "Black Stockings" is slow and sultry and is a great song to smooch with the one you
love. The album has verity and charm and is a winner in my book, do buy it if you can, you will not be
disappointed.
