This Sweet Daddy Cool Breeze Cd is a home made affair, although don't let that put you off,
simply because it's a good solid release. The album has been produced by guitarist Mark Easton,
who also mixed and engineered it. Mark also wrote 6 of the 13 numbers on this album with the rest
of the band chipping in on the other 7. The band is centred around Mark Easton & Wally Greaney,
who have been musical partners for 18 years and it shows in the album, they really seemed to be
enjoying themselves.
The album starts with a piece of nice swing blues, "Big Sea of the Blues" written by singer Wally
Greaney, which tells about the realities of life, for a blues band on the road. I liked another of Wally's
songs, "Frank G. Rohan Blues" which is about one of Wally's teachers at High School, a song Wally
wrote as a freshman. "NIN Ain't The Blues" written by Mark Easton starts with some tasty guitar from
Mark. "Boogie Time" features some good harp work from Wally, as the song romps along. "No More
Tears" another song from Mark slows the pace down with some fine mournful harp from Wally as the
song builds, Mark chips in with some nice guitar. "Likin Stik" has some fine slide guitar from Mark and
Wally's harp works overtime on this splendid piece. Not to be outdone drummer Barry Easton and bassist
Eddy Humber provide some great playing on "Doin' What We Choose", Wally also gets his sax out and
blows some, but Mark's guitar is stunning with a great solo. "You Gonna Miss Me" brings this fine set
of songs to a close and Wally finishes with some quality harp playing on this laid back number.
