Everyone needs to feel good and music helps with the cure. The good and bad times share the same blanket for the most part. For instance: you just got a raise from the boss-this is good. So have a party with Rod Piazza & The Mighty Flyers new disc from Blind Pig-go on pick it up!
On the other side of the coin: You've been downsized and lost your house. Albeit, your tent leaks-but you saved your boombox! Go to the library after you dump some of your old CDs at the local pawn, and order on-line Rod Piazza & The Mighty Flyers new album-you'll save half your money! Make sure to have it delivered to a post box, and then have a camp party-shake your ass; get crazy with the other campers!
Now lets get serious. First of all, this record is a killer of primarily one-takes. According to Rod, "the only polish here is from nights on the road performing together and reacting to each other. The way it should be," quoting him. The Piazza power harp is relentless with a lot of new and cool grooves-Rod has never sounded better. The band is well-seasoned and thoroughly professional. There are thirteen tracks with six nerw originals from Rod, and his lovely wife Honey. The improvs and re-tooling of classics such as: Good Morning Little School Girl, Baby Please Don't Go, Pretty Thing, and Tick Tock, are superb. And the original material is what you'd expect from a three-time W.C. Handy Award winning band-their personal best.
