This album is reason enough to celebrate. Smokin' Joe Kubek and Bnois King work so well together it's like being in a crossfire of edge and mellow; Kubek's Fender shredder attack, and the more toned down (but deadly!) King-a perfect harmony of sparks and flare with cool and smooth. Joe has been around the block-about 33 years-working with guitar legend Freddy King until King's death in 1976. He also played with B.B., Albert, and worked the Dallas bar scene with Stevie back in the 70s. A pretty impresive resume. He worked with a number of bands over the years and fronted his own, but after meeting Bnois King in 1989, oh well, the rest is history. All twelve tracks are originals, and yes, they smoke! Smooth vocals from King, bitchin' slide and fret work along with special guest Anson Funderburgh puts this disc in the winners circle.
