If the title gives you an impression of what this CD might sound like, it's probably accurate. Uncensored are an English bar band from Bristol (or were - their website, www.uncensored.org.uk, appears not to have been updated for about a year). They have a heavy but versatile two-pronged attack from guitarists Gary Thomas and Maggie Beth and perform mostly covers, ranging from Joe Walsh through Leiber and Stoller, T-Bone Walker and George Thorogood to Duke Ellington, although the band's enthusiasm for their chosen milieu means that all of them, including the Duke's "Jump For Joy" , sound as if they were written for a raunchy blues-rock band. They are loud, exciting and about as subtle as ten pints of Wadworth's 6X, (which I recommend but not in that quantity), and the perfect accompaniment to, well, four pints of it, perhaps. Don't take my word for it. Ask the regulars at the King's Arms in Bath. Better still, ask the people who live opposite.
