Todd Wolfe's background has at least one very interesting point; he played guitar with Sheryl Crow
from 1993 to 1998, and while enjoying some downtime between tours, he put together the Todd Wolfe
Blues Project. Joined by Eric Massamino on bass and baritone guitar, keyboards from Mike Lattrell,
and drumming from Hernandez, along with additional guests, the eleven tracks here simmer with blues
as a main ingredient. While there's plenty of over-the-top distorted guitar on the strong originals;
Heaven, Roll Over, Silver Blue, Change Will Come and others, being steeped in blues is
something that can't be masked. Black Night runs just shy of seven minutes and features
searing six-string work and passionate vocals, and Robert Johnson's Come On In My Kitchen
takes on a new appearance with its funky approach. Jon Popper adds harmonica to On The
Run, another creative original. Whether Todd Wolfe is blazing across the frets of an electric or
acoustic, his playing leaves no stone unturned and he creates a wealth of sounds and flavors. While it
isn't for blues purists, it's a finely crafted work. www.toddwolfe.com
