"Keeping the Blues Alive Award" Achievement for Blues on the Internet Presented by The Blues Foundation
Singer Lenore has just completed her second exciting CD of original tunes, entitled Summer Dancing, on Elaine Records. The front cover of the CD case is in full color, and features Lenore's beautiful face happily looking up to an equally beautiful blue sky and white clouds. The inside CD tray shows the same blue sky and clouds, with high-top red
Converse running shoes sitting on a small hill in the foreground. The back cover shows Lenore sitting on the same hill, with the same red high-tops, hanging from her guitar case.
The title tune "Summer Dancing", is full of sensual innuendos and romantic imagery; which along with Lenore's naturally sexy performance on this tune, makes it a real winner. "The Smokin' Song" is always a popular and fun tune at all of Lenore's performances. An upbeat Country look at a smoker's dilemma, it's lighthearted humor is always fun to listen to. Besides Lenore's vibrant, energetic vocals on "Temptation",
there's some mighty fine sax playing in solos. All this is in perfect sync with Lenore's singing. "Crowded Sidewalks" is a slow, Country ballad featuring Lenore's lamenting vocals, along with an atmosphere of looming loneliness.
"My God" is a light-hearted look at dying in a car accident and meeting God. "The Man" is a real rebel rouser, that could get any party goin' good! Lyrics like "every single night I make love to my guitar", add to the rousing nature of this fantastic tune. I'd call it high energy Country -- it's filled with some intense, energetic guitar licks, accompanying Lenore's determined vocals. "Wastin' Time" is a light-hearted rock 'n' roll look at people; and the way the serious things in life seem to pass us by; due to the fun at the moment.
"Reach Out To Me" is a romantic ballad, sung with a feeling of expression in Lenore's vocals, that makes it seem like a personal message to the listener. It ends in a sexily tempting whisper. "Drivin'" is another high energy tune, again featuring some incredible wailin' sax, complimenting Lenore's rousing vocals. This tune would
even get the dead up on the dance floor doing their thing! Lenore's vocals hit some very sexy falsetto highs, that add something special to this tune.
All in all, Summer Dancing is a great listen, no matter what the mood or occasion. Something for everyone!
