blues picture When Hamilton Loomis say's, this isn't your grandpa's blues record collection-that's a definite. The music is based in the roots with a whole lot of changes. From the sounds of early R&B, to the more upscale music you catch on your radio, to some very cool guitar tricks, and throw in the funk-check out track #3. Track #4: "Just You Fool" is without a doubt, the bluesiest song on the CD; with some pretty heavy changes, and some damn nice guitar work. On track #5: "Get My Blues On," Loomis has some fun and crosses path with a very early Van Morrison-much less serious than Van, however. Track #6: "Better Man" is a nice slow blues with plenty of soul; kudos to his background singers on all of the tracks. On #7, Loomis switches over to harp. Track #8: "Take A Number (Stand In Line)" is a great club song and a fine ballad; again, with the Loomis harp. The final track: "Who Dat?," Loomis takes you into some dark playfulness-right up my alley! Check out this young Texan.
