CD Image Following the critically acclaimed live album, Burnin' Down The House in 2002, Ms. Peaches returns with her first studio recording in two years, Let's Roll, which further cements her reputation as Queen of the blues.

Let's Roll is a diverse recording as Etta draws from Funk, Soul, R&B, and Blues. Etta's powerful voice hasn't lost a thing after and her range is remarkable. The Blues-rock driven "The Blues Is My Business" and "Strongest Weakness" are gutsy, raw, and exposed performances. Etta re-examines old school blues on the mid-tempo shuffle "Leap of Faith" which features tight brass arrangements. Combining a delta inspired vibe with a soulful groove, "Trust Yourself" tackles social issues such as drug abuse and prostitution. Nobody can sing a ballad like Etta James and she doesn't disappoint on this disc. "A Change Is Gonna Come Do Me Good" and "Please, No More" are heartfelt and somber whereas "On The 7th Day" has a poignant gospel frame of mind.

At age 65, Etta James is making some of the best music of her career. While she may never rival the success of her signature song, "At Last", she continues to grow as an artist and has never sounded better.
