blues picture Eric Sardinas' third Cd is a step forward to wider acceptance of his music, it's been released through Stevie Vai's Favored Nations label. Vai and Sardinas are close friends who shared the stage on numerous occasions so merging of their talents seemed natural. This is more mainstream oriented product which will undoubtely bring additional exposure to Sardinas. No more strictly typical blues formula as evidenced on previous Evidence release, this time Eric's musical bag is larger and accomodating other influences which fit together just fine. There's a nice Little Feat feel on "Four Roses", you can easily imagine Lowell George doing this track. Some tracks have hard rock feel and will go down fine with most of FM radio stations world over ("Shades Of Love", "Tenfold Trouble" and title track) featuring Eric's trade mark riffing to the point of boiling! This collection of music has some fine overall Johnny Winter feel to it and that's good news as Johnny has been one of my favorite white bluesmen, check "Same Ol' Way" for starters!). Eric Sardinas fans will also notice more use of acouctic guitar on some tracks, expertly performed and that brings another dimension to his music."Big Red Line" is one of those tracks with great picking over it's rolling rhythm, this is premier class material!

One of the key factors which will help this CD getting wider exposure is producer's hand of legendary Eddie Kramer of Jimi Hendrix fame. Careful listening will reveal some tricks Eddie used to do with Jimi at the time and that cannot be bad at all, right? Of course, Eric Sardinas should be enjoyed best at a concert setting, but listening this CD on loud scale will definitely bring enjoyment to your ears and probably annoy your neighbours, but who cares!
