CD Image From the queen of electric blues guitar comes another great CD "Key to Love." On "Key to Love" Ms. Davies plays tribute to her mentor John Mayall, covering his originals with her own flare. Her guitar playing is superb and supported by the legendary talents of James Cotton (Muddy Waters’ band) and Bluesbreakers alumni Mick Taylor & Peter Green. She is joined a second time by New England keyboardist Bruce Katz as well who’s playing is fantastic and adds to the completeness of the CD. My only exposure to Ms. Davies prior to this is her CD "Love the Game" produced by veteran and electric blues guitarist Duke Robillard. It didn’t take long for "Key to Love" to catch my attention. It’s upbeat and filled with spunk comparable to the music of Marcia Ball. Being a Texas blues fan my first thought was that sounds like Lou Ann Barton. "Key to Love" would be a good listen for those who enjoy the Texas flare to electric blues. A biography and more information on the music and milestones of Ms. Davies can be found at www.debbiedavies.com.
