CD Image This CD seems to be an extended jam session with a large group of excellent blues players having fun, but featuring John Jaworowicz. There are lots of players on here which adds a lot to be incorporated in the overall sound. The one common element of all the songs is vocals by John Jaworozicz. This CD seems like a showcase for him with everyone else providing support. His vocals are good but the range over the whole CD is a bit limited. The musicianship overall is very good, but there's a lot of players which are packed into the songs so it's hard for anyone to really stand out.

The CD opens with 'Muddy Water Fever', written by Moore and Jaworowicz, which is a medium tempo blues. The sound is big and would be good for a club. Willie Dixon's 'Back Door Man' gets a pretty cool treatment with a nice groove. There's plenty of space for everyone on this arrangement. 'Before The Bullets Fly' is a shuffle, with a bouncy vocal that works very well. Written by Warren Haynes, Jaworowicz and Williams, this is another good song. 'Who To Believe', another song written by Haynes and Jaworowicz, is a slow blues, which reminds me a bit of Robert Cray stylistically. 'Kindness For Weakness' is a slow shuffle, which reminds me a bit of Texas blues. Warren Haynes does some good slide guitar on this one. The vocal has a gravely sound to it. Most of the songs are medium tempo blues and would work well in just about any live venue.

Bottom Line: This is a good, but not great release. The vocals are good and the musicianship is very good, but with so many artists playing, it's hard to hear anyone really stand out for more than one song. This CD is really a showcase for John Jaworowicz. I give it two and a half out of five stars.
