Welcome
You are in store for a remarkable blues weekend at the twelfth annual Bayfront Blues Festival. Bayfront has grown into one of the most popular blues attractions in the country and has acquired a devoted and loyal following who make the annual trek to the picturesque shores of Lake Superior every August. This year we have a special treat in store for you -- you will be seeing some blues luminaries who have all had a significant impact on the development and history of blues, soul and R&B. People like New Orleans R&B legend, Snooks Eaglin; the Ambassador of Memphis music, Rufus Thomas; blues/rock founding father, Lonnie Mack; Chicago guitar legend, Hubert Sumlin; Zydeco pioneer, Boozoo Chavis; and Texas border town blues trailblazers, Lonnie Brooks, Long Hunter and Phillip Walker. The female contingent this year is absolutely astounding with the likes of Sue Foley, Sista Monica, Becky Barksdale, and Tracy Nelson. The up-and-coming new talent is electrifying with The Keller Brothers Band, Lil' Slim & the Back-Alley Blues Band, and the Hillbilly Voodoo Dolls. Local legends, Big Walter Smith, Mick Sterling and Willie Murphy are joined by hometown favorites, The Busters and Willies Thang. First time Bayfront performers, Carl Weathersby, The Holmes Brothers and The Golden Swans are ready to make some new fans. And get ready to hold on to your hats for the ensuing energy rush with Walter Trout and Jeff Healey. So setup your chair marker to find your place in the sea of family, friends and fans and get ready to enjoy one festive weekend of blues, soul and R&B.
