Singer, songwriter, guitarist Hadden Sayers has been turning heads in the state of Texas for a number of years with his explosive guitar playing, sinewy vocals and prolific songwriting. Born in Nacogdoches, Texas in 1967, Sayers first took up the guitar at the age of 12, after being influenced by the music of ZZ Top. Citing a variety of musical influences, from the Fabulous Thunderbirds, Jason and the Scorchers, Eric Johnson, Dick Dale and Stevie Ray Vaughan to Albert Collins and Roy Buchanan, Sayers didn't begin his music career in earnest until attending Texas A&M University, on a 4-H scholarship. In 1990, Sayers moved to Austin to join Silent Partners, a blues trio which included legendary B.B. King sidemen Tony Coleman (King's current drummer) and Russell Jackson (former B.B. King and Bobby "Blue" Bland bassist). He then toured with Lucky Peterson and spent several years with Texas' legendary Miss Molly & the Whips, as lead guitarist. It was with Miss Molly that he began developing his impressive songwriting skills. Ready to strike out on his own, he formed the Hadden Sayers Band in 1995. He was immediately recognized at the Houston Press Music Awards as Best New Act of the year. Sayers followed that up with the Best Rock/Pop Band for two years in a row. Since that time he has been on the road constantly touring, honing his chops and developing a loyal fan base. He has also released 3 albums including the 1998 live recording, Swingin' From the Fabulous Satellite. Fans of eclectic, rafter-rattling blues-rock will appreciate Sayers' scorching guitar licks and infectious blend of soulful blues-laced songs. His flashy, high-voltage live shows continue to thrill and win over audiences wherever he plays.
