    Calvin James and Bad Influence performs a unique blend of blues, R&B and REAL rock and roll. Members Jim Johnson (lead guitar/vocals) and Don Larson (bass/vocals) started the Underbeats, the Twin Cities hottest rock band of the '60s. Later as Gypsy they were the house band at Whisky A-Go-Go and toured with the Guess Who. They are joined by Bill Miller on keys/vocals (Accents, Gestures, The Troop, Comfort Station), Dan Elliott on drums/vocals (Del Shannon, Gary U.S. Bonds, Righteous Brothers) and Rick O'Dell on tenor sax (Lamont Cranston, Doug Maynard). Covers include Willie Dixon, Muddy Waters, Elmore James, Howlin' Wolf, Wilson Picket, Chuck Berry, Elvis, Doobie Brothers, Gypsy. They shine on originals by James C. Johnson including "Unbreakable" and "Rogue's Moon" (blues), "Woman Can't Hide Love" and "Too Hard to Love You" (R&B), "Money Side of Town" (country).
