Blues trio Azure DuJour (blues of the day), formed in January 1996, play a refreshing mixture of blues standards with a little Cajun and reggae thrown in for good measure. With over 30 years of varied musical experience each member of the group brings something new and exciting to the stage every time they perform. Bass player Jim Hall says, "we play off each other a lot, so we don’t have to practice much. It makes it more exciting for us." It also makes for a fun and spontaneous show for their fans. Randy Anderson’s guitar style is firmly rooted in classic blues and R&B. From Minneapolis to the backwoods of northern Minnesota, Randy has been playing guitar and singing the music he loves for over two decades. Jim Hall has been playing blues for 29 years from Chicago to Los Angeles. His bass lines get you hooked on the groove as his vocals easily glide over songs ranging from Howlin’ Wolf to Eric Clapton. Joe Lindzius, drummer extraodinaire, is always trying out new things while keeping the beat right where the dancers need it. Joe was one of the founding members of Molly and the Heymakers. Hall and Anderson played together for a number of years with the Blues Healers before forming Azure DuJour. Their new CD, "Live At The Bayfront Blues Saloon" contains mostly original material by this very talented band. Whether Azure DuJour is playing songs by Robert Johnson, Willie Dixon, Freddie King, Stevie Ray Vaughan or even Hank Williams, they always deliver great music. Azure DuJour will also be playing at Tom and Jerrys in Chisholm on Friday, June 9 and Koscak's on Saturday, June 10, 2000.
