Bandleader D.C. York, a.k.a. "Rock Bottom," from St. Petersburg, Fla., plays harmonica, sings and pens 11 of the 13 songs on the album. York has been performing and recording the blues for almost 3 decades, playing all over the United States and Europe. He also produced and played harp on the latest Rounder Records release by acoustic blues master, Roy Book Binder as well as produced Tomcat Blake's last CD for Double Trouble Records in Belgium.
Label mate Armand Lenchek slings some hot guitar as well on several tracks such as the sincere "Manatee County Jail," a cut about an April Fools Day 1970 dope bust in Bradenton, Fla. Much of "Shake Your Boogie Leg" is comprised of traditional blues, R&B and rockabilly along with a moderate splash of 'Nawlins.
Besides playing 250+ shows a year, York finds time to participate in other projects such as producer, film and stage productions, composer and television.
