Williams, who won the Living Blues Award's "Album of the Year" in 1995, returns with a soulful helping of R&B chestnuts that contain some funny lyrics. The title track sets the tone and does a decent job of showcasing Williams' vocals, which is the centerpiece on all 10 tracks. "It's Blues Party Time" makes one feel like they are socializing at a weekend party. If you ever wondered what it would be like to have someone share the fact that you are sleeping around on your woman, then listen to the hilarious but sincere "Somebody Blew the Whistle on Me."
Musicians credited on "She Made a Freak Out of Me" include producer/engineer/mixer John Ward (rhythm tracks and guitar), Jim Spake (saxophone), Derrick Jackson (additional keyboards) and William and Bertram Brown, E. Nelson and Quinn Golden (background vocals).
