Mondo-festive South American salute to the next housand years that features Rhythmtown—Jive, the Christmas Jug Band (Dan Hicks), many others from the Globe roster, special guest Suzie Davis (Prince, Pat Benatar), a rousing Dixieland finale and lots of kids from the Wilson School (Petaluma, Calif.). Also appearing on this nifty compilation is Johnnie Johnson, Paris Slim, Solid Air, Joe Goldmark and Gator Beat.
The choruses are sung in English, but nine other languages speak translated versions throughout the title track (French, Italian, Mandarin Chinese, Hawaiian, Greek, Spanish, Japanese, Cajun French and German). Other highlights include the accordion laced and Paris Slim penned "Molly’s Backyard Blues," "Those Darn Accordions’!" Joe Goldmark’s "I’m Only Sleeping" and Cole Tate Band’s "Back Porch Serenade." A portion of proceeds benefit Stewart Brand’s Long Now Foundation.
