Josh Davis and David "English Dave" Fulkerson join Teddy Morgan and the Pistolas as being one of the rising Lone Star state roots/blues artists to break into the competitive music scene. Davis and Fulkerson are two arch-top wielding guitarists whose love of music lies in the revivalist movement of modern blues. The two compliment each other quite well as Dave plays the melodic lines leaving the choppier, funkier PeeWee Crayton-style phrasing to Davis.
Groovin' along with the young slingers is bassists John Garza, John Phillips and Kevin Phelan, drummer Kevin Schermerhorn, pianist Randy Wensel, horn players Wensel, Jeff Robbin and Steve Howard and special guest, guitarist Matteo Bosissio. Recorded, mixed and mastered at Patrick McGuire's Recording and Davis' garage, "Turnpike Cruiser" is a lively treat and should be enjoyed at least once a week by those who love to swing and dance to old-fashioned rootsy-grooves.
Fans of Tiny Grimes, Johnny and Oscar Moore, Charlie Christian, Hollywood Fats and Junior Watson will want to add Davis and Dave to their music collection sooner rather than later.
