This is the debut release of a young group from Milwaukee, Wisconsin who have really put their heart & soul into the work. I find this group to be closer to the Fleetwood Mack sound with a little Motown but not a whole lot of Blues. To me they fall into the R&B category with a rock edge. The songwriting needs some more work but they do tell the story. It is a feel good CD.
The album kicks from the first cut, "Monday Night Woman" (one of the originals under Decadence Productions), I find this to be rather funky and would be great for a TV show. Then "The Blues Is Blue" took me to an Island feel. Very cool. "Swallow" is a little more alternative. Fleetwood Mack again or even a Patti Smith style. Good vocalist on this song. "The Cause" definitely has potential. "The Cause," and "In The Wrong" are very different songs which you really have to listen too carefully to fully appreciate. "I'll Be Like You" really soaks into your subconscious. "Breakaway" and "A Song For Phillis" are in need of some reconstructive surgery but still sound great. Overall, there is good guitar and vocal work throughout the CD and the bass & drummer are right there.
