blues picture Rebekka Fisher's newest CD, "Inner Spaces," is mesmerizing, fiery, eclectic, and pulsates with the passion of a true blues woman. Her songs exhibit her extreme talent, displaying her ability to merge jazz, funk, pop, and blues into something spellbinding.

Her diverse voice sometimes enthralls the listener with a symphonious sweetness. At times, her lyrics beg with yearning and unveil her feminine vulnerability. Yet Rebekka's deft, rich, bluesy voice is strong and hits diabolically in the soul. Sometimes her voice almost sounds like a musical instrument, such as in "Doot, Doot," uplifting the spirit with a catchy beat. Her opening vocals are almost haunting in "Driving," and exquisitely raw in "Come On In," as they plead with fervent longing. There are also times when her sultry vocals deeply captivate, and her heartache artistically seasons the melody, unleashing one's most primal emotions, moaning each note almost as if with her lover on a quixotic night.

Rebekka Fisher has been heating up the Twin Cities for quite some time. You can catch her performance at Minnesota venues such as The Cabooze, The Fine Line, Famous Dave's, Jacob's 101, The St. James Hotel in Red Wing, Red Rooster, The Poodle Club, The Narrows, Flaherty's, Pepito's, and The Reef in Duluth.
