Cincinnati calls him the, "King Of Blues," but I'll bet his mother calls him an angel. After listening to Keith Little's CD, "A Mother's Love," numerous times, I'd call him a ray of sun who beams in the hearts of many on cold, damp, rainy days. This talented artist delivers a traditional, yet contemporary blues style with his smooth, deep, bluesy vocals. Immediately, the warm depths of Keith Little's spirit reached out and made my soul smile with appreciation.
Mr. Keith Little isn't new to the blues scene and dedicates his time to many projects. He's been performing for more than 34 years, jamming with other blues artists, such as Kenny Neal, Pinetop Perkins, Long John Hunger, Anson Funderburgh & Sam Myers, and so many others. Keith plays the bass guitar and writes his own music. He's the producer of the Cincinnati Blues video documentary, "Thanks For My Flowers." Founder and President of (CULAN INC) Cincinnati's United Local Artists Network Inc. Founder and President of (PAES INC) Popular Artist Entertainment Systems Inc. Founder, host and producer of his own television show, "Mr. Little's Hangout," which is on a local Cincinnati station, Ch 25 WBQC. As well as a former trustee, Vice President and President of the "Greater Cincinnati Blues Society." His music can also be heard on supportive radio station all over the world, in places such as the UK, Greece, Italy, Russia, Japan, Whales, Belgium. Poland, etc.
I thought this CD was so appropriate to review for the month of May, and listened to it many times on Mother's Day, envious of Mr. Little's mother. It's the perfect Mother's Day Anthem, and timeless gift. His mother's a very lucky woman. There's magic in this blues man's voice and Keith has the ability to make just about anyone smile and chuckle when he sings, "Fried Chicken Blues." His warm, tell all voice grabs you by the ears and makes you listen to his story. My absolute favorite on his CD is, "Rise Above It All." This songs mesmerizing riffs and bittersweet lyrics touched deeply within and lit a flame of inspiration. Mr. Little also had a cool way of seducing me with his voice when I heard, "Bring It On." A melody everyone should play when you want to set the mood for a romantic evening. This CD will take you on an emotional roller coaster ride. Your cheeks will hurt from smiling when you ride the heights of joy and laughter. Your eyes will rain with tears when you twist, turn, and dip through the trials and tribulations of this blues man. Your heart will melt as you coast along listening to his sentimental melodies, and you'll feel waves of excitement in your stomach when you find the strength to rise above it all with Keith Little's soulful inspiration.
Mr. Keith Little is noble, powerful, extremely talented, and a ray of light. If you want to listen to the kind of blues which strike deep in the soul, and lingers there for hours after, then Mr. Keith Little's CD, "A Mother's Love," is one to pick up.
