"Feel The Fire" is Paul Gargiulo's solo project for electric and acoustic guitars. The entire CD is pretty much what I would call kitchen table music. Kitchen table music would be described as songs that could be played around a kitchen table with an acoustic guitar or two, singing along with the instruments. Paul wrote ten of the eleven songs on this CD and it's definitely a solo project as it's pretty much a mix of laid back acoustic guitar backed vocals with electric guitar used for accents. The vocals are a mixed bag, some songs being better than others. The songs range from ballads to basic blues to medium tempo acoustic rock. The guitar's and vocals carry the songs without bass guitar or drums. There is an occasional rhythm backing provided by a shaker or something similar but I think bass and drums might have added a lot to this CD.
Bottom Line: This is a professional looking package, and the production is pretty good overall. If you like acoustic based songs of the kitchen table variety, then you might like this CD. I think the music would work much better in a live setting though. I give it two stars out of five.
