The Vees

The Vees consist of brothers Jeff, Tommy and Robby Velline (drums, bass and guitar respectively) with accomplished piano and vocals added by Greg Armstrong. The brothers have been together as a band for over fifteen years touring from Colorado to New York. The three Velline brothers joke that they’ve been a band since kindergarten. More recently, as back up band to their father, Rock and Roll legend Bobby Vee, they have traveled throughout the U.S., Europe and Australia.

Born and raised in California the bothers moved to St. Cloud, Minnesota when they were in high school. Their years of experience as recording and performing artists has resulted in a tight and definitive music that finds its roots in the early rock ‘n’ roll and rockabilly sound of people like Elvis, Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Eddie Cochran. This music had its heyday for a few years in the late 1950’s and experienced a revival when the Stray Cats brought it to the attention of a wider audience during the 1980’s. Jeff says, "It’s not a gimmick. With our upbringing, it’s been an influence. It’s what we like." They are not alone. Surprising numbers of fans love this pure, honest, fun music. The Vees have spent the last few years recording and shopping their music to national record labels in addition to maintaining their steady performance schedule. They are touring in support of their latest CD, "Crash Boom Bang it out..." So put on your dance shoes and join in the fun!
